Our Dordogne self catering holiday rental properties are situated near Le Bugue in the beautiful "Perigord noir" which makes up part of the departement of the Dordogne,
in the region of Aquitaine, in south west France.
Here the Dordogne and Vezere rivers cut meandering paths through the countryside, through centuries of historical events with caves showing evidence of the presence prehistoric man many thousands of years ago.
The steep cliffs that line the rivers are sprinkled with fortified chateaux and pretty villages that have witnessed warfare and intrigue from the earliest crusades to the resistance of the second world war.
The natural beauty of the area, its abundance of fascinating historical sites, its culinary specialties and variety of sporting activities make the Dordogne an excellent holiday destination.
The holiday gites are located near the most important tourist attractions of the Perigord: Lascaux, the Dordogne valley with its many chateaux and beautiful villages, Sarlat, Les Eyzies and the numerous caves and prehistoric sites.
